Oil Painting: Midas Touch

gloves

Title: Midas Touch
Size: 16″ x 20″
Medium: Oil on canvas

I finished my self portrait for my mother about a week ago! I think it turned out better than I thought it would, granted I still have a ways to go with learning how to paint facial features. Time for practice practice practice! My love for my gold small orb pendant knows no bounds. It took about 5 days total of painting to complete, which is the longest I’ve spent on one painting before. Usually when I’m painting I get major ADD and like to start and finish one painting within a day or two. My next big project is going to be 36″ x 24″. That is going to be a test of patience and will take weeks to complete no doubt. At the request of my husband, it will be a portrait of my two fluffy pomeranian furbabies to hang in the living room.
